So I just had a problem with my ram, turns out that if I just boot my device without my external hard drives plugged in, I don't have any problems, my ram is really good when I don't plug in the external hard drives, but as soon as I plug in the external hard drives one at a time the ram gets used up. With no hard drive plugged in it's about 43% RAM usage, 55% with the 1 TB drive plugged in, and 80% or more usage with an additional 2 terabyte drive plugged in. I think it's strange and can't figure out why my ram is being used. My device does get slower when they are plugged in, only thing I can figure is Media scanning, but I let it scan all night and didn't seem to help. Does anyone know what might be causing this and maybe you can do some tests yourself to see if you get the same thing on other devices. As of now I think I'm going to reformat one of my drives as nfts because the one terabyte drive is in that format and it runs immediately without having to load, whereas the other one is in FAT32 and it has to load a long time before I can see my files. then I guess I'll just leave them unplugged in when I do need them plug them in one at a time, this is inconvenient though because up until now I just leave them plugged in all the time so I can get to my files whenever I want. Thanks do anyone who can help me or give me some tips. If not I hope this information helps somebody who is working on developing dark matter.
