Help How to change android x86 distros?

How can I change Android x86 distros without any data loss or backup?
Can I just simply replace new distros' files except that of data to boot into the new one?
Like I wanted to switch to DM from PrimeOS.

Solution

It is not clear what will happen as a result.
It can work, or can boot-loop.(xtr says he can switch from phoenixos to bliss os without data loss)

Anyway you can take backup of your apps with their data, "Titanium Backup" app works well.
BTW, thanks for your suggestion
