hey man, the last two kernel updates is having some graphical bugs. imma send the screenshot, so it's like the taskbar is not visible and the minimize and close buttons are not visible in fullscreen. There might be more but I only saw these things.. the kernel is the latest one "GoogleLTS_xanmod1._Kernel_5.10.58_pledge" and I faced the same problem in its previous version, the other versions worked fine, no visual bugs in those older versions, it just used to freeze sometimes ( dunno whats the cause ) . my CPU is AMD Ryzzen 5 with VEga 8 Gfx

Here is my suggestion , stick to kernel that worked best according to your hardware;)

I. Introduction and Features
Good evening, I hope you have a wonderful holiday so far. It's the end of the year meaning that a new LTS Kernel is released, so it's time for me to cover it.

The goal is the same as 5.4 - to support more hardware. And this version is really special since it got official support for wifi cards such as rtl8723de or rtl8821ce, so I don't need to compile external one anymore :D

Anyway, here are some small features :
  • Based on Mauro Rossi's kernel-5.10rc7_vmwgfx branch.
  • Merge new version and chnges from Google's android12-5.10
  • Merge changes from xanmod kernel
  • Turn on Wireguard support.
  • External modules include :
+ rtl8188eu from lwfinger
+ rtl8812au from lwfinger
+ broadcom-wl from Packman repo
+ rtl8723bu from Android-x86
+ bcm2079x-i2c and bcm2079x-i2c from BlissOS

II. Download
Up there

III. Troubleshooting

No need to do anything so far

IV. Bugs
  • Nvidia still suck ??
  • Broadcom-wl driver may broken and not usable (I'm still working on it).
  • rtl8821ce broke on rtw88 driver (I will use old rtl8821ce in the next version)

V. Credit
- Larry Finger (lwfinger) for lots of realtek modules.
- @AXON for Gearlock and PhoenixOS Darkmatter.

Hello Guys,

I finally succeded to update the blissos 11.14 pie with the latest 5.10 pledge kernel , there is sometimes a bug during install in gearlock when we answer "n" to decline extra firmware installation, but whichever version of gearlock or kernel, sometimes it's ok sometimes no, so i can't blame a file in particular. Maybe i got successful after running gearlock from system instead of ram. but i do not dare to check again now.

On 5.10.32 all was fine for my intel baytrail soc Z3735D,
On 5.10.58 the screen switch on by himself after a while (edit : only the backlight on a black screen) , so there is a power/standby issue.

I'll try to find out if a grub parameter like GRALLOC, VULKAN can solve this problem.

Congratulations for your huge work ! with the distros, the kernels and gearlock recovery !

Would it be possible to have a version of the kernel with more permissive parameters in default.prop system file that is overwritten from ramdisk i guess at every boot ?

ro.secure=0
ro.adb.secure=0

It seems to be very difficult to modify ramdisk without a proper linux desktop:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...nsecure-to-run-adb-as-root-on-system.2593581/

I don't have OTG usb port and i need debugging activated on adb over tcp (wifi)
It was possible in versions 5.4 and 5.8 if i have good memory.

Hi, you can create a boot script.
Press alt+f8 and run the following commands:
Bash:
cd ~/gearboot/post-fs-data
echo 'setprop ro.secure 0; setprop ro.adb.secure 0' > adbnet.sh
sync *

Later you can reboot and see if it does the trick for you.

The settings have applied but unfortunately i have something else to set,
Screenshot_20211126-155336.jpg

before (in android 10 and android 11 experimental releases) i got a mac address displayed in a window as soon as i activated adb over network, now (in android pie 11.14 stable release) the windows hasn't any mac address assigned. But that's a detail, as i have root i can do what i need in terminal emulator anyway.

Thank you again for your huge work AXON and the team ! I'm very happy with this stable iwork8 tablet, runs faster and more stable than with the embedded old android 4.4 impossible to update !

! Note for those who have issues with bluetooth pairing :
Before to give up with the different kernels, try the last one and make sure to clear datas of the system bluetooth app, clear the dalvik cache upon reboot and try again. It finally worked fine for me !

To who it may be helpful, i fixed the backlight persistence and battery drain in sleep mode on intel atom soc baytrail thanks to this google group post , confirmed by this bugzilla.kernel group post by setting :
set_property power.nonboot-cpu-off 0
set_property sleep.state force

In terminal emulator i typed :
setprop power.nonboot-cpu-off 0
setprop sleep.state force

Hopefully this can help other people with this problem on similar devices (teclast, chuwi, pipo, onda, cube, ITworks, asus ebook x205 etc, running and intel atom gen7 processor)

Battery drain is now 2% per hour in sleep mode, the tablet remains cold, and it requires only 10 seconds to connect wifi and bluetooth on wake up from s0ix sleep state.

setprop is a temporarely command, you must apply them in to build.prop or in init script.

Yes, I updated to mesa 20.1.10
I booted the OS in 5 attempts now..
The wifi never gets on if it gets off , it needs system restart ( not the hot reboot) to enable wifi again..same with bluetooth..
and wifi gets disconnected automatically .IDk why.., but it happens when internet speed gets slower. it shouldnt disconnect automatically tho ( especially while playing games)
and I cant open browsers except mozilla..the in game browsers also doesnt open , like when I have to login using facebook or twitter in PUBG . it crashes the game, so i downloaded facebook app.xD maybe its cause of the android system webview not supported ..IDK. well this issue is not related to kernel so I'll talk about this in the DarkMatter discussion page.. Other things work awesome...Thanks for the OS and Kernels
same problem btw i too have the wifi problem if i turn off wifi then only restart i can get it on but i found a quick fix , if u turn off your wifi due to any reason and then want to turn it on then just put os to sleep and wake just after sleep , no need to wait just sleep then wake it up then u will be able to turn on your wifi
